Have you bought a copy of my software Snowflake Pro at some time in the past, and now you want to upgrade to the latest version, which is version 1.2.1?
Or do you own a copy of my best-selling book How to Write a Novel Using the Snowflake Method, and now you’d like to get a copy of the software that goes with it, Snowflake Pro?
The latest version of Snowflake Pro is version 1.2.1, dated December 11, 2019. It’s been updated to run on Mac OS 10.15 (Catalina), which introduced some new security hoops for Mac software. And of course it still runs fine on Windows and Linux. Snowflake Pro now includes autosave, and it has some other handy new features.
I am no longer selling Snowflake Pro. This will simplify my life a lot.
However, I am making the newest version of Snowflake Pro available for free to anyone who owns an earlier version or who owns my book.
You Can Download Snowflake Pro for Free If…
That’s right. You can now download the latest version of Snowflake Pro, if either of the following is true:
- You previously bought a copy of an earlier version of Snowflake Pro.
- You own a copy of the book How to Write a Novel Using the Snowflake Method.
You don’t have to prove that you bought them. Just go to the download page by clicking the link below, and confirm that you own a copy of either an earlier version of the software or the book.
What’s the Catch?
There is no catch. It makes my life simpler to no longer have to deal with the hassles of running an online store. And maybe Amazon and B&N and Apple and Kobo will sell a few more copies of my (already best-selling) book. That’s a win for me and a win for you.
In order to keep out the bots, I’ve set up the download page with a password. The password is snowflake, so just click the link below and enter that into the password field and you’ll be able to see the rest of the download page.
Another Option: Plottr
But I wanted to make sure users of Snowflake Pro would have a path forward. I have a friend, Cameron Sutter, who makes a competing product called Plottr.
I talked to Cameron and asked him to add a feature to Plottr that would import Snowflake Pro files. He did that, and then I worked with him to make Plottr work extremely well with the Snowflake Method.
I am super happy with the end result. Plottr runs great. It will import any files you created with Snowflake Pro, and then you can edit your data in Plottr and use all the cool features of Plottr to do things that Snowflake Pro can’t.
I use Plottr now myself. It’s very cool. I spent some time working with Cameron to make Plottr exceptionally friendly to the Snowflake Method. I even wrote a full Snowflake Method Project Template for Plottr. There was no such feature as a Project Template in Plottr, but I showed mine to Cameron and he immediately added the feature in.
Plottr runs on both Macs and Windows, and it’s very very reasonably priced. It has a 14-day trial version and a 30-day money-back guarantee, and I highly recommend it if you’ve been using the Snowflake Method.
