If you’re going to be a writer, you need to master three things:
- Organization
- Creating
- Marketing
Over the years, I’ve tried out many books and tools. Some of the tools were free, but the problem with free tools is that they tend to go away. When I want a tool I can depend on, I’ve found that I usually have to pay for it.
But that doesn’t mean you need to pay an arm and a leg for good tools. A high price doesn’t guarantee great quality. And a low price doesn’t mean a tool is lousy. We all like bargains, as long as the quality is high.
In the pages below, I’ve made a list of the books and tools I love best. Most of the tools are truly amazing–the best I’ve ever seen. These are tools that delight me. Tools that help me get massively more work done. Tools that help me do a better job than I ever imagined. Tools that help me sell my books. And books that teach me how to get the most out of myself and the tools I use.
Some of these tools have “affiliate programs” that pay me a referral fee when you buy the product. Some of these tools don’t have an affiliate program. My policy is to recommend the very best tools I can find, whether or not they have an affiliate program. I own and use almost every single one of these tools. (In some cases, I recommend multiple tools that do the same thing. In those cases, I may own only one of them, but I recommend the others because they look like excellent alternatives.)
I’ve broken my recommendations out into three separate pages to make things easier for you to find:
