Have you found a bug in Snowflake Pro? This is the page to report it! Before you fill out the bug report form below, however, please save yourself some time. Your bug may have already been reported by somebody else, and if so, then we’re already working on it. Or your problem may not even be a bug — it may be a simple misunderstanding of how Snowflake Pro works.
Please scan through the list of bugs below to make sure your bug is a real bug and that we don’t already know about it. With each future release, we’ll make our best effort to fix all known bugs that we know how to reproduce. Remember that all upgrades to Snowflake Pro will be free to all registered users, forever.
Bug: “I tried to open one of the example Snowflake documents and it just opens a new empty window!”
Resolution: Snowflake Pro is working just fine. You clicked on the File menu and then the Open Example submenu and selected an example. A new window poppped up, but it opens to the first tab of Snowflake Pro, which is the Welcome page. If you click on the next tab, which is the Start page, you’ll see the beginning of the Snowflake document for the example you chose. All the tabs are filled in for each example, but you have to click on them to see them.
Bug: “The Scene Notes in Step 9 don’t wrap words.”
Resolution: This glitch in version 1.0.3 was fixed in version 1.1.1. If you are still running version 1.0.3, then please upgrade.
Bug: “I saved my work to a file and now I can’t open it!”
Resolution: You are probably trying to open the file by double-clicking on it. This didn’t work in version 1.0.3 but it does in version 1.1.1, so please upgrade. In any version of Snowflake Pro, you can open your file by using the File menu and the appropriate Open menu option in that menu. A file browser will let you open your file.
Bug: “The font is too small and I’d like to make it bigger.”
Resolution: Some computers are set up to display the text quite small. Snowflake Pro version 1.0.3 had no way to change that. If you have this (rare) problem, please upgrade. In version 1.1.1, we added a Preferences dialog that lets you change the font size.
Bug: “I tried to run Snowflake Pro and it told me my license expired!”
Resolution: Your license can never expire in Snowflake Pro. However, in version 1.0.3, there is a rare bug that is due to the software package (JInstaller) that we bought to create the installer for Snowflake Pro. This occasionally causes a spurious “license expired” message to appear when you try to launch Snowflake Pro. We were never able to get the makers of JInstaller to resolve this problem in their software, so we chose a new installer-creator tool for version 1.1.1. Our apologies on this! If you are still running version 1.0.3, please upgrade.
