Having a title in mind at as much early as possible(which I came by itself naturally after thinking of story), helps me to better understand the soul and heart of the story. Working title is one word synopsis of the whole story for the writer. Of course later editors will change it, which may be even better. The working title does help in understanding the story better and keeping focus. For ex. I named working title as Atmayan(Legend of self) at start and it helped me a lot to keep the story true to its soul and get deeper insight in what everything is about in my story.

Intriguing titles seem to come to me with no particular connection to anything I'm working on.
I keep a little black book (yes, it's black) of titles that I review every once in a while to see if any of them trigger full-blown story ideas.

Hi Randy.
Please can you tell me how I revise a title when the title of my book is original.
My title is 'The Search for Freedom' but when I go to the spell check, it tells my to revise it. I have done this on number occasions, but stuill get the same advise.
My book is finished but until I can get the correct wording I cant edit it. Thanks for your help.

Hi Randy.
I am from India. I am writing a novel inspired by my life. It's not an auto-biography, it's fiction inspired by real life. I have got a friend of me to edit it. Do suggest me a title, I have thought of the title '7 seconds' for it. Do tell me your say.
