Sam will truly be missed, as will you. But everyone understands time constraints and the stress it puts us under.

Be blessed!

Will miss Sam's concepts, constructs, word usage and perceptions of the writer's life. He always seemed to appear, just as I was facing some writer conundrum, to put things in a great perspective.
Completely understand why he is retiring.

Randy, It was such a shock to learn that Sam was a Fig Newton of your imagination. We'll miss him, but if one of you had to go, I think you made the right decision.
Be well.

Wellll...I suppose reitirement has to happen some time for each of us. I'll definitely miss the laughs :)))

Just one thing.... Could you tell Sam to find his retirement spot in the sun ANYWHERE but where I live?

Blessings Randy! :)

Poor Sam lol. But I think all of us understand the whole time thing. Hopefully Sam is enjoying the sun somewhere on some beach with a nice drink with an umbrella on top!

Awww--this is very sad. Ever since I learned about Sam, he's been one of the first people I check on at the beginning of every month.

But of course, I do understand. May God bless your work, Mr. Ingermanson!

God bless,

Puhleeze tell us this is just a hiatus for Sam. I'd hate to think he'd retired permanently. But I don't begrudge him an extended vacation. We all need one of those from time to time.

Let's just call this a sabbatical. Hope he'll be back before too long. I'll miss the danged old curmudgeon with his malapropisms and fractured language. And his perspectives. Priceless!!

Meantime, don't work too hard. Blessings on your projects.

Randy sez: I'm quite certain that Sam will be back. Let's just say he's undergoing treatment for shock caused by learning that he's "fictionary."

Bummer. I totally understand though because writing a monthly column can get to be a real burden, even when it's fun. One less deadline to deal with makes life much less stressful. Perhaps Sam will turn out to be a Brett Favre/Michael Jordan type and can't tolerate retirement. :)

Well then lets just say he's going on vacation. Maybe he's doing a national Lampoon to Vagas or something. haha

Yeah, well, you're gunna regret this when your toilet gets emblockerated.

Randy sez: Here's the strange thing. We recently had a guest house built behind our house for my wife's parents. The builder subcontracted all the plumbing work to his brother, whose name is -- you guessed it -- Sam. So we really do have a Sam the Plumber working for us.
