That's hysterical... I can't wait to read it to my husband. You're going to need a t-shirt for your next teaching/mentoring gig that says, "Randy Ingermanson -- WIFE coach."

The trouble with what Sam almost thought up is that other people have already thought up the real thing. Google 'wife coach' and you'll find them out there. That is scarier than the possibility that Sam is out there.

Very clever --- Wife Coach.

I know that you are a man of science, but I have to tell you something. I was in a book store in central Maryland, and was rushing through the aisles because as usual, I was late for something or other. Suddenly, three feet in front of me a book falls from the shelf. I pick up the book to put it back on the shelf so no one would trip and couldn't help notice the author was Randy Ingermanson.

It was uncanny how the book fell, after I had just told some stranger about reading your blog. Since all things in this world are connected somehow. What do you think this means? I don't believe in coincidences. Oh, the book was "Double Vision." ~~~Cori

Is this a metaphor for how hard it is to consistently communicate what we mean as writers? One time I got an email from the person editing my novel. She had trouble understanding what I meant by "I stacked the horses out in the pasture." Of course, what I thought I had written was "I staked the horses..." Even when she pointed it out, it took a moment to see what was the problem. I still can't get the picture out of my mind of all those poor horses stacked on top of each other.

Thanks for the fun interlude with Sam the Plumber.

I particularly enjoyed the loop you created with the bat. That's something I need to work on as a nonfiction writer longing to write fiction. And the conversation with your wife regarding what's real and what's not. Nice.
