SHADE sounds like it will be very good and I look forward to reading it. I like spooky. Stephen King's Salem's Lot is the spookiest book I have ever read so we will see how SHADE measures up.

Can't wait to go through the MRU stuff again!

ohmygosh, I'm totally excited about the conference and I wasn't even there! HA!

Randy, I'm encouraged when you say you attended workshops and learned stuff. There's always something to learn and if we get to the stage where we think we don't need a workshop, we're setting ourselves up for a prideful fall.

Thanks for sharing.

Hey, this is great! I'm excited to follow your blog for your notes. I was in a different class during that time being a staff reporter. So I'm really happy I won't miss your class.

And, Randy, I hear I do a great impression of you, lol.

So good to spend time with you at the ACFW conference.

Hello,
I have a question for anybody who can answer. Is the Snowflake Forum still up and running? I only see a few posts, and those only on step one, when I get on. I think the last post was in April. If the Forum is out of commission, where can I ask questions that aren't related to the current blog topic? I'd appreciate it if someone can fill me in!

Thank you,
 Hannah

Randy sez: I don't know if that forum is still going. If not, I may need to put one here on my site at some point in the future. Stay tuned on that...

I'll get SHADE for my hubby and enjoy it by proxy. Sometimes I make him walk around the house with me as we turn off lights to go to bed--and this is just after watching LOST, so I'm not sure I can handle SHADE. :-)

Sorry, but I won't be reading SHADE. I can't do spooky stuff. I'm a big, fat, chicken - yep, I admit it.

MRU's...yes! Randy, I have worked so hard getting my story in the correct order, but I'm still having issues with internal feelings. Where exactly do they go? I think I'm over analyzing the MRU's. At first I thought that internal feelings would be a "Feeling" (naturally). But it would seem from your examples that the "Feelings" are physical feelings - like pain, and not emotional feelings. Maybe I'm wrong. Well, then thought that maybe internal feelings would be "Rational Speech," but I have trouble with that because sometimes internal feelings aren't exactly rational, you know?

Ok, trying not to ramble - so where do internal thoughts/feelings go??? Mine seem to kind of sprinkled in, in various places, but I know there must be a correct spot for them.

Randy, I just wanted to thank you for blowing your MRU talk at the conference, since I only got to hear about ten minutes of it. They were ten absolutely fabulous minutes, though. I'm looking forward to what you share over the next few days. Please make sure you include the pretty colors.

I'm willing to buy one of Steve's 60-foot poles, but I'm a little concerned about the cost of having it shipped. Any word on the freight charges?

Glad you enjoyed the conference, Randy. Wish I could've gone.

Can't believe I missed Chip's b-day cake! I had to skate out early to teach a late night chat! Good to see you, though I hardly feel I got to talk with you. ACFW is always too short!

Randy was one of the first people to look at ROOMS back in spring of '06 and somehow in fifteen minutes gave me two hours of stellar criqtique (must be that physics training)so he has to take some credit for ROOMS being picked up.

Also, John's book is an over the rafters, outside the park homerun.

I can't wait to read Shade as well as Fossil Hunter. John Olson is one of the funniest, coolest dudes on the planet. Next to Randy of course. I think John actually smiles more.

And CONGRATULATIONS to Christina Berry, Carla Stewart and all the others for winning the Genesis!! I wish I could have gone. !!! I'm also looking forward to reading Tosca Lee's new book and Susan Meissner's. So much talent! I love it. Thanks for bringing such high quality to Christian fiction and for bringing such talent to the table. It widens the arena for the rest of us. Until I can stick my toe in there, I'm going to lurk, take notes, read these books, and take more notes. Y'all rock!!

Enjoyed the conference report. Of course it's fun to hear a different perspective out of 500. Can't wait to read Shade. It was sold out by the time I got to the bookstore to grab one.
