In deed. Exciting, depressing, stimulating, joyful, challenging, rewarding and satisfying.

Fiction is fun, but for raw entertainment, nobody can match those whacky politicians.*

That is good advice from Renni. It's also comforting to know that editors need editors, too!

Just wanted to share my delight at completing the second draft of my novel while reading, and trying to implement, various bits of self-editing advice. Many thanks for the encouragement.

I wrote my first novel, editing every piece as I went, and stitched the second together from lots of smaller pieces, waiting till the end to edit. Not sure which process worked better for me - maybe it's a question of doing what works at the time.

Thanks for the advice. It's hard not to try to follow what works for others while I'm figuring out how best for me to do it. Right now I'm handwriting my first chapter and it's working well. I find myself not looking back much on what I've written. It's also making it so I can't consider revising much until I type it into the puter. I'm used to doing short stories and am still developing my way of doing a novel. Again, thanks!

I'm all for celebrating too! Count me in.
